Privacy Policy

Energy Storage Disease ("ESD", "we", "us") is an educational platform at energystoragedisease.com and the Energy Storage Disease mobile app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

• Waitlist email address — if you voluntarily submit your email on the waitlist form. We store this in Cloudflare KV to send you early-access updates. We never sell or share it.
• Anonymous page analytics — we may use privacy-first analytics (e.g. Plausible or Fathom) that collect no personal identifiers, no cookies, and no cross-site tracking. Only aggregate page view counts.
• Nothing else — no accounts, no tracking pixels, no advertising SDKs.

2. Mobile app — on-device only

The Energy Storage Disease app (iOS + Android) stores your HOMA-IR calculator history in on-device encrypted storage only (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore via Expo SecureStore). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

The app loads content from energystoragedisease.com over HTTPS for the Research tab. No other network requests are made. No analytics SDK is embedded in the app.

Optional biometric lock (Face ID / fingerprint) uses your device's local authentication — we never access or store biometric data.

3. How we use data

• Waitlist emails: to send early-access announcements only. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing [email protected].
• We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Third-party services

• Cloudflare — hosts the website and processes form submissions. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• GitHub / Expo EAS — used for app distribution infrastructure only; no user data is shared.

5. Children

This service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your rights

You may request deletion of your waitlist email at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
